It is difficult if not impossible to eat a healthy diet every day of the week. Life sometimes gets in the way of keeping the right balance of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients on your plate, if you even have the time to use a plate.
After a hectic round of going to work, picking up the dry cleaning, ferrying the kids to afterschool events and making a quick stop at the supermarket, it is easy to throw together a quick, cheap and comforting meal. You may give thanks that you did not stoop to buying fast food again.
If you often rely on processed foods when preparing a meal, you are likely missing out on some important vitamins you should take everyday. Even if you incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet, their vitamin content may be less than outstanding if they are past their prime.
Everybody who has had to take even one health class in school probably remembers that our bodies need vitamin D in combination with calcium to form healthy bones. You might also remember hearing vitamin D referred to as “the sunshine vitamin.” There was a time when the average person spent enough time in the sunlight to meet his daily requirements for this vitamin.
Dermatologists may not be to blame for our widespread vitamin D deficiencies. Human skin requires relatively short exposure to sunshine to synthesis this vitamin. Most people get out in the sun enough to make the required amount of vitamin D and yet are deficient. Some recent studies suggest that various pesticides and herbicides linger in the environment for long periods of time and a few make their way into the food supply. Once consumed, these substances may interfere with the way our bodies convert cholesterol into vitamin D3.
Vitamin D is fat-soluble and is more common in full-fat milk and cheese, and fish such as salmon and herring. In particular, older people may not eat enough things from these food groups, leading to weaker bones and problems with balance. As a result, a bad fall for an older person can result in life-threatening broken bones.
Taking a good vitamin D supplement along with additional calcium is the first line of nutritional defense against falls and weakening bones. Talk to a qualified nutrition consultant to find out how much you should be taking every day to achieve optimum health.

A Guide to Your Hip Health Diagnosis
In addition to accidental injury, there are
many potentialcauses of internal hip pain. While some issues may be relatively easy to
assess, such as a hernia, other cases may not be so clear. When getting an
initial diagnosis from your doctor, he or she will review your medical history
in detail and perform a basic physical examination. You should keep in mind
that, once an initial assessment has been made, further testing may be needed.
Discussing
Your Medical History
In order to pinpoint the source of pain and
recommend the best course of treatment, every diagnosis must begin with a
careful discussion of your medical history. Make sure to consider the following
questions before your appointment:
- Was your pain preceded by any injury or accident?
- What factors worsen the discomfort? What seems to relieve it?
- Where does pain occur in your hips, legs, or lower back? When does it occur?
- Does the discomfort limit your mobility, or prevent you from daily activities?
- Do you feel pain in any other areas of your body?
Your doctor will also likely ask you to
describe your pain (e.g., sharp, dull or burning), or ask you to locate the
severity of discomfort on a pain scale. Additionally, he or she will need to
know about existing conditions, such
as osteoporosis, and any current use of supplements or medications.
Physical
Examinations and Tests
During your initial assessment, you doctor
will perform a basic physical examination. He or she may ask you to walk or
move your limbs in order to determine range of motion and location of pain.
They will also likely inspect the knee joints, spine, and groin, since examining
these areas can often identify hidden pelvic issues.
In cases where there is no clear cause, or
if your doctor suspects that your pain is the result of a musculoskeletal
issue, he or she may order an X-ray or MRI. X-ray imaging will allow a clear
view of issues with bone structure or deterioration. Meanwhile, MRI scans provide
an even more detailed picture of the state of your joints and cartilage.
In some cases, your doctor may recommend
blood testing. A blood test can help to detect an elevated ESR (erythrocyte
sedimentation rate) and white blood cell count: common indicators of the
presence of infection. Such testing can also reveal issues with rheumatism or
multiple myeloma, which are often associated with otherwise unexplained pain in
the hips.
While it may take a series of tests and a
bit of patience to ultimately determine the source of your pain, an accurate
diagnosis will ultimately lead to the best treatment plan for your specific
case.

Three Tips to Help You Increase Your Confidence
Everyone
experiences difficulties. It's one of life's inevitabilities. However, it's how
we handle those difficulties that will determine whether we become defeated or
grow and evolve. Confidence or a lack thereof can play a large role in just
this. Strong, confident individuals approach these obstacles head-on and treat
them as opportunities for development and learning, while those lacking in
confidence will often give up at the first sign of trouble. If you're trying to
figure out how to be confident and become a more pro-active, positive person,
these three suggestions may be able to help:
#1 Adjust Your Diet
It may seem odd that a spiritual awakening and increased confidence requires you to eat healthy, but it does. The food we put in our body is integral to the function of our brain, which allows us to think clearly and rationally. Sugary foods contain toxins that negatively impact our body and cause us to become slow, weary, and irritable. Do yourself and your body a favor by cutting out these undesirable foods and consuming more healthy options instead.
#2 Make Changes to Your Social Circle
Although it might seem harsh, changing your outlook on life often means changing the individuals and friends with whom you spend your time. The Sydney mindfulness training you receive will tell you that keeping your environment full of positive role models is integral to becoming more confident in yourself.
#3 Take the Time to Show Compassion
There's no denying that others can have an impact on your confidence. Perhaps less well known is the fact that your attitude toward others can directly affect your confidence as well. Lacking a healthy compassion for those in your life can actually force you to carry their troubles and burdens along with your own. Learn to empathize, and what once would have been a burden becomes a strength that will fuel your confidence.
Self-confidence is a powerful thing that can give you strength as well as positively impact the lives of all those you encounter. If you're interested in taking part in personal development courses that will help you to increase your confidence and improve your relationships with others, Rezinate may be the place for you. Coupons for Supplements
For the longest time, people have avoided supplements because of some of
the perceived dangers that come with them. Things are changing, though,
and more people are willing to give supplements a try. This is mostly
because modern supplements are tested extensively, and they're shown to
be quite safe. With the safety issue mostly out of the way, modern
buyers are able to grow their muscles and maintain mass by turning to
great supplements.
Affordable supplements draw a wider group of buyers. Supplements have been expensive the past, and this limits the number of people who can afford to use them. Many people find supplement coupons at Paramount-Supplements.com and other sites, and this makes the entire process that much more affordable. For a few dollars each week, individuals are able to get the most out of their body.
Muscle growth that's healthy and natural. There are lots of reasons why people would want to increase muscle mass, but many are not willing to do so unless it's safe. With the right supplements, muscle growth is a natural process. The supplements simply help the body do what it would otherwise do. For people willing to put in some hard work in the gym, these substances can safely repair muscles and cause them to grow more quickly.
Supplements continue to get cheaper, and with modern technology being what it is, they're getting safer, too. More people are taking advantage than ever before, maximizing the results that would otherwise accompany their hard work.

Vitamins for Babies
It's been almost nine months since i had my little munchkin
and i cant believe how quickly time is passing by.
He is definitely growing like a weed and i feel so blessed.
Having kids bring up so many different things you have to consider including what daycare/school they should attend, what activists they should be involved,
should they eat organic food to what vitamins they should have.
One of the things that we were forced to make a decision
On was vitamins. We had to give him vitamin D because most babies and truth be told including adults require some vitamin D since most of us do not get enough sun to satisfy our daily intake. Anywho we have yet to think of other vitamins to give our son but I've been thinking of other ways to give him in the liquid form or the gel form.
It's amazing all the decisions that we have to make as a parent...none of the decisions are easy. As long as our baby is happy is all that matters in the end...
It is difficult to come across companies that offer vitamins
for children however recently i came across one.
I liked that Nature's Plus The Energy Supplement has different types of vitamins including Nature's Plus Animal Parade children's vitamins which i would really like to try.
And when i find something I like for my little man I am all for trying it out.

Baby Weight...
So I know I need to lose my baby weight.
We are entering into month 6 of my baby's birthday
and I am still far far away from getting back to my prebaby weight.
I mean before Baby, I was running, weight training and so focused on my goals.
Now that I've had the baby, I'm not as focused as I can be.
And I've been trying to get focused
but it hasn't come as naturally as I wanted it too.
And I am trying to get back on track.
And I've tried different things and so finally
I decided maybe if I can't exercise the way I used too...
maybe I need to start eating appropriately.
One of the things I have been thinking about as of late are smoothies.
I mean who doesn't love a smoothie.
And I know it will be hard work but I do know
that this will be the right way for me to get back to my prebaby weight!
I think the biggest challenge for doing smoothies is time and effort
but I do think I am important and need to take time
and effort for myself. Making a smoothie
with good nutrients like calcium pyruvate will be good for me.
And will make me feel healthy and strong and back to myself.
One day at a time to lose the baby weight and I am excited.
Here goes...I will be the Smoothie Queen!!!

Health Body..
Since having this baby...i want my body back the way it used to be.
I want it stronger and healthier...
I want to be able to return to before when my body was strong and powerful.
Right now...it's not so strong.
My body is getting stronger and stronger everyday.
The lung capacity is expanding...
I have several challenges including going to BED EARLIER...
and EATING RIGHT!
But truly this is a journey and i am getting there daily.
I have tried a few new supplements and I have to be careful with
what I use because I am still breastfeeding.
I recently came across supplements for military and I am excited to try it
maybe after I am done breastfeeding although i did read that it was safe and appropriate.
They have all different kinds and it's supposed to give you energy, stamina, endurance and focus.
Which are all attributes I can definitely use to be the best mom ever!

Alternatives...
I have several neighbors who SMOKE and this is so upsetting because as a new mother...i am very paranoid about everything. Especially second hand smoke...we have all heard the stats that second hand smoking is the worse than actually smoking yourself. So the thought that my baby will expose to this REALLY does upset me.
There are many alternatives to smoking and i so want to tell my neighbor to try some. Chewing gum, exercising, eating their favorite popisicle...anything but smoking. I sometimes wish people would take other people into consideration when they are smoking. Especially other people when they are not your family member.
Anyway...i am seriously thinking about sharing my personal thoughts with this neighbor of mine?
What do you think...should i share some of these alternatives with my neighbor?
Have you ever heard of some of these alternatives?
Staying Healthy and Fit
I have a confession to make...since giving birth i have not done a good job of getting back into exercising and fitness. It's really unfortunate but i do understand that it's going to take my body sometime to get back into gear. Honestly i thought right after the baby...i would be able to get back into running and doing kickboxing like before. After all, i did run a half marathon while pregnant...so of course i thought and still think i can do it all!
But i do have to give myself the time to heal and do what it's supposed to do. After all having a baby is a pretty big ordeal on my body. The other part of this too is that as i get older it's only going to mean i need to work harder to maintain healthy and fit. It's NOT only about working out but eating healthy and clean and having a lifestyle that is good.
Also, if i am not healthy and fit then it will be difficult to get medicare supplemental insurance, which i have been thinking i want and need. Of course i need something extra for myself and my newborn so that we are taken care of.
As i get older, i am reminded it's not only about being healthy and fit but ensuring i have certain things in place to maintain my health and wellness...insurance. And I'm glad this is something i am learning.

Hospital Care...& Record Keeping...
Currently i am dealing with the hospital system since i just gave birth to my son.
The hospital i delivered my baby was definitely an awesome one.
I went to that specific hospital because that's where my friend delivered her son.
So of course i had some second hand information to know how good the hospital is.
I am not even going to try and imagine how hospitals organize all the information they have to organize.
Recently i was speaking with a friend of mine and we came across this OptimusEMR.
Come to find out,
OptimusEMR is a leader in the electronic medical records industry. They develop software for hospitals to help organize information about patients, so other hospitals will have easily accessible information about them, and no information will be lost. You can read more about what OptimusEMR offers on their products page:
If you would like some examples of how OptimusEMR has contributed to client's success please refer to their case studies here:
http://www.optimusemr.com/case-studies.aspx
When you are in the hospital, you are not thinking about whether administrators keep electronic health records but it is helpful to know that such programs exist. I can only imagine if i had to be in the hospital for long term care, i would hope the hospital would keep an excellent record for me and my health providers.
Stronger Body...

But truly this is a journey and i am getting there daily.
I cannot do bad things to my body including smoking.
I told one of my friends who is about to have her baby that once she has her baby,
she needs to stop smoking cigarettes.
As this is the only way she will get back to her stronger body.

Comfort
Since pregnancy every part of my body has changed a great deal.
Aside from my belly stretching and stretching away to accomodate this little bundle of joy.
Other parts of my body has changed including my feet.
I am now a size eight or something like that.
I am normally a size seven so this is a big change.
And with change of feet size comes bigger shoes.
I am definitely in the process of looking for some comfortable new shoes
and i might have come across some.
I am so glad because my feet has been hurting...
I need some comfort for sure!!
And i cannot wait to feel some kind of comfort for my new mommy feet!!

San Diego
The Author of this post is Solomon Dejesus
Last year we went to a wedding in San Diego. We had not been to that part of California before, so we took a few extra days for sight seeing. The bride was my college roommate’s daughter. They had moved to California after her husband landed a wonderful job there many years ago. I had not seen her in ages, so I was really excited to see her and catch up. They lived in a town called Escondido outside San Diego. We found a great local television show on sightseeing on Direct TV. This show told us just about everything we could do around San Diego including all the details about the zoo and the beaches. I had always wanted to go to the zoo after seeing so many unusual animals on the Johnny Carson show years ago. After a beautiful outdoor wedding and a fun night visiting with my friend in Escondido, we spent some time at the beach just watching the people and enjoying the sun. We then ended our trip with a long day at the zoo.

Actos Lawsuit Explained...
My granny has had type 2 diabetes for more than twenty years and she struggles with it on a daily basis. Diabetes is definitely a chronic illness where there are high levels of sugar.
Certaintly, no one ever wants to have diabetes however when you have it, you have no choice but to find methods that work for you. Granny wants to be healthy and we want her to be healthy.
My granny uses several methods to curb her diabetes.
Of course there are: medicines, exercise and diet control (my granny's favorite)
to control her bloog sugar and prevent further issues with other parts of her body like her feet.
One of the methods she came across to control her diabetes was Actos.
This was subscribed by her physician.
Therefore, imagine my shock when i found out on that there was an Actos Lawsuit.
WHAT?!!
It was a little disheatening when i found out that taking this type of drug for too long
can cause increased risk of bladder cancer.
Of course i didn't know how to approach this conversation
with my granny but i was thankful when i found out i could go to this website for more information: http://www.simmonspharmalaw.com/practices-actos-lawsuits.html.
I am thankful i could share all this great information
for my granny because i know it will definitely help her in the long run.

Fighting Drug Abuse
Recently i went to a training about substance abuse. Substance abuse is real and affects the life of many people on a regular basis. One thing they said that stuck with me was that people will turn to drug abuse if they are not connected to something. Another thing that stuck with me was when they discussed different Atlanta alcohol rehab programs.
They talked about one of the important things about treatment being a focus on something else that can be stronger than alcohol. Atlanta Drug Rehab should be a way for many people to engage others that could possibly be safe their lives. Atlanta drug abuse rehab centers works because individuals are plugged into something like a fitness/health program.
There was one individual that hit rock bottom however after getting involved in working out and taking care of himself...drug usage was not as strong. All addictions are real but rehab works for those that can become invested in their health and fitness! Those that can become connected to something stronger! health and fitness is not a bad thing to be connected to.

SHELTER DOGS
I appreciate the guest post, Jamie Guy:
I should have never let my daughter watch the local channel on Direct TV Sunnyvale where they advertise all of the animals that are in the shelter. She has been dying to get a dog. Luckily, i have been able to steer her away from a pet, but she has gotten more set on a geting a dog lately since she has been watching all of the cute dogs at the shelter.
She just can't get enough of them. Everyday, she wants a new one. I personally don't want a dog because i don't think that she will be able to take care of it once the "newness" weas off. I think that i would be the one who woudl end up having to take care of a dog if we got one.
I don't think that she realizes how much work is involved in having a pet. You have to bathe it, feed it, and walk it everyday. You also ahve to clean up after it, if you know what i mean! That is a lot of work! I am going to fight the dog "wants" for as long as i can, but honestly, i don't think that i am going to be able to hold out much longer.

Making the Most of My Commute
Contributed by Milford Woods I love living in Bremerton, but my commute to Seattle for work is wearing on me. I use the ferry to get to Seattle every day, and it takes almost an hour to get from port to port. Then, it takes me another 15 minutes to get to my office. My husband and I were discussing moving, but we really love our home and we knew it would be difficult to sell it. Our kids also go to a great school and we didn’t want to pull them out. I mentioned my dilemma to a friend and she suggested I check out clear wireless Bremerton. She said that I could get a mobile wireless connection and use the time on the ferry to get work done or take care of personal stuff online. I had never thought about it before, but what a great idea! I’m going to check it out as soon as possible to see if this option might work. I figure I might not mind the commute so much if I can actually come home feeling relaxed. Getting stuff done during my commute might be just the thing I need to help that happen. |

Scuba Gear
One of my favorite things to do during the summertime is going to the beach. Especially after the winter blues, and the best part about going to the beach is showing off my new runner's body.

And what better way to show off my body than in a cute swimsuit from some of my favorite stores.
And they have some awesome cover ups too after coming in from the water.
One of the things i am excited about trying this summer is scuba diving. And with this new adventure comes the gear. I found some awesome deals for wetsuit. They are reasonably price and well made.

I cannot wait to try my wetsuits on when they come. There is nothing better than having the right type of outfit on for scuba diving. It definitely makes all the difference. The last thing i want to be worrying about while diving is whether my suit fits properly or not. I want to enjoy myself completely.
You should definitely check them out when you get a chance!!

Krill Oil...
I have been using fish oil for a while for my joints, skin, and running endurance.
When taking the krilloil.com my joints feel the same as well as my endurance. My skin though has improved. My skin is less dry, and thats saying something for me. Because my skin is normally dry and gets really dry in the winter time.
I grew up on fish oil, so i know the benefits of Omega-3's. All these years though I wondered why they couldnt make the pill smaller and easier on the stomach. I heard people talking about another Omega-3 the was smaller, easier on the stomach, and had added benefits.
The good thing about Krill is that they are easier to swallow and they dont upset my stomach. This might seem minute, but if you cant swallow the pills and they mess with your stomach, the less likely you are to take fish oil and you will not get all the benefits. Some of my friends tell they eat fish often, after I tell them they should be taking fish oil.
The truth is we would need to eat around two to three pounds of fish daily to equal the amounts found in supplement form. Thats why I like the Krill pills. You can get the proper amount of EPA and DHA in one to two small pills. I remember sometimes I would skip the fish oil, just because it was too big. Beyond the obvious benefits, Krill has helped my muscle soreness.
Astaxanthin I found was naturally occuring in krill oil. I researched it, and found out it is an antioxidant that helps the protect the muscles from oxidative damage from exercising and environmental pollutants. Its benefits also include immune fighting, anti-inflammatory, and neurodegenerative diseases of the eye which was a plus.
I will be using krill oil from now and I will be able to be consistant because of the small size and its ease on the stomach.
