There is something called Gym Etiquette. And i wish i would have reminded the people at the gym today!
I was so annoyed and wanted to share a few do's and don'ts the fellow gym members (not that they read my blog).
Don't...
1. Talk about religion, politics and sex (LOUDLY)
2. Play Fitness Instructor
3. Bring your cellular phone into the gym
4. Bang the weights and or the machines
5. Play your ipod without your earbuds!
6. Wipe your armpits and private areas infront of others
7. Groan loudly
8. Hog the equipment
9. Work out when you are SICK!
Do...
1. Wipe off the machines
2. Keep your voice at a reasonable level
3. Return what you use
4. Be courteous and friendly
5. Work Out Already!
6. Return equipment to it's right location
7. Do Cover cuts and scrapes
8. Wipe out your sweat
9. Respect personal space
Ladies, please pass this on and stop the RUDE people at the gym!

This is great, but the bad thing is bad gym behavior hass been going on since there first was a gym. this I dont think is going to change. but keep trying you never know. I'll help spread the word!
Ha! This made me laugh out loud. So true! I actually quit the gym a while back and just do my workouts from home and run. Stopping by from the Fitness Blog Hop.

Argh! I hate all those behaviors, too.
I wonder if things are better at an all-female gym?
Coming from the Fitness Friday Blog Hop.
I might have to post these rules at my gym! Following from Friday Fitness! and to Elle- they are not any better at an all female gym - too much socializing while sitting on the equipment! arrgh!
haha love!!
yesterday at the gym a guy was just sitting at one of the machines relaxing like it was nothing new. I wanted to scream, hello its 5:15 the busiest time ever, go home if you want to relax!
Agreed. What I hate the most is people running to the spin bikes before you are even really off of them. It's hard to wipe anything off when someone has already plopped their stuff on it.
Some how some where basic ettiquette went out the window. I now believe I can scientifically link it to air travel. Seriously... I don't nkow how old you are and I'm going to assume you are waayy to young to remember. However not so long ago when people traveled on an airplane it was an event. You were stepping out and about. You were proud of yourself and where you were going and wanted that to show to those around you. I am not saying people wore formal wear but when they walked off a plane they could easily walk into a restaurant with minimal fixing up.
THEN BAM next thing you know we're dressing as if we had to shop at the nearest garage sale and carrying half our stuff in plastic bags.
Thank you for the use of your soapbox :0)

My girlfriend and I just signed up at the YMCA to start working out. This post was perfect timing. It's been a while since I belonged to a club so it's easy to forget ettiquette. I'm really looking forward to your posts - they will be a huge help!
I'm now following you :D
